Tony Finau Kicks Off FedExCup Playoffs With a Win

Tony Finau jumped to the top of the FedExCup Playoff Standings after edging out Cameron Smith in a playoff in The Northern Trust earlier this week. 

The BMW Championship, tournament 2 of 3 in the FedExCup Playoffs, is set to get underway Thursday. The number of players that qualified for the BMW Championship was cut down from 125 to 70. Here are the top-10 in the Playoff standings: 

 1. Tony Finau – 3348.143

2. Jon Rahm – 2763.261

3. Cameron Smith – 2738.521

4. Patrick Cantlay – 2301.553

5. Justin Thomas – 2218.38

6. Collin Morikawa – 2170.958

7. Jordan Spieth – 2150.08

8. Harris English – 2117.864

9. Bryson DeChambeau – 1989.303

10. Abraham Ancer – 1940.905

Following the end of the BMW Championship, the top-30 players will qualify and play for the Tour Championship with a chance to win $15 million. 

Since 2007, the FedExCup Playoffs is a season-long points competition capping off in August with the FedExCup Playoffs. Player’s earn points throughout the regular season based on where they place in each tournament, with more points awarded for wins and high finishes.
